Chocolate lotion? Thumbs down

Someone recommended Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion for moisturizing our little one's skin. You don't have to order it or go to some specialty store--we found it at Walmart. How convenient is that?

Sometimes "convenient" isn't the only issue.

I should have realized that "cocoa butter" might be somehow related to chocolate. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm as big a chocolate lover as the next person. But LOTION that smells like CHOCOLATE? Does not work, in my humble opinion.

I keep using it on my hands, thinking I'll get used to that strange chocolate smell. I can't. So, it's back to the drawing board. Any lotion suggestions? That you can find at Target or Walmart? That smells nice?

  1. We use Johnson's Baby Oil after baths, and Lubriderm (dry skin) lotion at all other times. Her dermatologist always comments about how moisturized her skin is, so I guess it's working!

  2. For great moisture with no smell, Aquifor or Eucerin. Aquifor is really thick, Eucerin goes on easily. For a yummy smell we use Burt's Bees. Smell before you buy ~ the BB's baby buttermilk lotions have the gentlest scent. Some of the other BB's are nice, but smell too strong for my taste. Good luck finding just the right one to suit you. And my all time favorite baby skin product is Burt's Bees apricot oil. YUM.

  5. I find Burt's Bees at Target - there's a whole Burt's section in the women's make-up section. I'm not sure if your Target is set up the same way though, but I know they will likely carry the products.

  6. there is usually some in Target where all the other baby skin care products are...it's an off white bottle with yellowish label.
We have used the Burt's Bees baby shampoo/body wash with good success with Samuel (we use California baby conditioner also found at Target), and also the Burt's Bees baby lotion! I love the chapstick for myself! Hope this helps!
