Two weeks from today...

we should be holding Enatalem in our arms.

For years we've hoped to add to our family. For months we've stared at the Enatalem pictures on our fridge.

Two weeks from today...

-we will find out whether she thinks the five strange-colored people who have descended upon her could be her friends or if she is terrified by our grins and teary-eyes;

-we will see her smile (we hope). And cry (she's a toddler, after all). And maybe even giggle;

-we will see just how little a seventeen-pound seventeen-month-old really is;

-we will find out how many teeth she has;

-we will discover whether she's walking;

-we will learn whether she smiles more than she cries or cries more than she smiles;

-we will get to touch her hair;

-we will hear what her voice sounds like;

-we will see if her belly-button is an in-y or an out-y;

-we will learn if she is shy or outgoing;

-we will find out if she's been healthy and gaining weight since her sickness in December or if she's had more set-backs;

-we will get to nuzzle her neck (hopefully) and smell her wonderful baby smell;

-we will shower her with our love;

-we will take the final steps in our adoption journey;

-we will take the first steps to becoming a family.
